4V4 SOCCER FESTIVAL – 4/2/2017
As part of the collaboration between Cedar Stars Academy and Staten Island Soccer League, we are pleased to announce our first CSA-SISL 4v4 Festival for our U6 and U7 boys (2011, 2010 birth years) and U6, U7 and U8 girls (2009, 2010, 2011 birth years). The event will be held at Owl Hollow Soccer Fields on Sunday, April 2nd. The boys will play in the morning and the girls in the afternoon.
With more touches on the ball that leads to increased passing, dribbling skills, scoring attempts, 1v1 encounters and decision making, 4v4 is the ideal player development environment for a U6-U8 player. With less players on the field, everyone is involved … and everyone has the opportunities to turn technique into skill! We do not record scores in the festival, so the focus is on technique, decision making, positional interchange, transitional play and interaction between players … and not the result of the game. Here are a few quick points on the CSA-SISL 4v4 Festival:
– The registration fee for a 4v4 team is $40
– Each team is allowed a MAXIUMUM of 6 players
– There are no goalkeepers
– Each team is guaranteed four 15 minute games
– Coaches must have copies of birth certificates for the players during check-in
– Teams will play in age group based divisions
– There are no trophies or medals
– There are no referees. Coaches and players regulate themselves with assistance of field marshals to facilitate
– Schedule for the event will be published a few days before the event
– No scores and standings are recorded
